Lantern of Knowledge Boys Secondary, is a small friendly independent boys school that sets high standards academically and in the personal lives of every student.

We place considerable emphasis on creating an atmosphere and an environment where every pupil can feel that he is known, is valued and can have their whole needs carefully looked after.

The Islamic ethos, environment and atmosphere are central to the school that will positively influence the characteristics of thought, behaviour, and attitudes of the students emanating from the Islamic beliefs. This environment is conducive to promote practical manifestation of an Islamic way of life that will enable the students to develop a tangible identity that they live with for the rest of their lives and project to the rest of society.

A highly dedicated team of qualified teachers and scholars ( Ulama ) follow the British national curriculum and the essential groundings of the Islamic Studies Programme. The acquirement of Islamic sciences of knowledge will enhance appreciation of the cultural heritage of Islam and will provide identity and belonging to a universal cultural group.

We aim to have a generous pupil to staff ratio which will enable us to provide a curriculum with a wide range of choices. We also aim to provide a wide range of sporting and extra curricular activities, making ones time at Lantern of Knowledge (Secondary) an enjoyable, pleasurable and memorable experience.

We are determined to reach and remain at the forefront of modern, high quality day education whilst maintaining our traditional strengths.

We aim to provide high quality education in accordance with our policy on the curriculum, supported by schemes of work and national frameworks.

We aim to provide our pupils experience in linguistic, mathematical, scientific, technological, human and social, physical and aesthetic and creative education. Our pupils will acquire skills in speaking and listening, literacy and numeracy skills of the highest standard.

The teaching at our school shall enable the pupils to acquire new knowledge and make progress according to their ability. Lessons will be well planned and effective teaching methods employed with wise management of class time.

The school will assess its pupils work regularly and throughly and use the information from the assessment to plan ahead so that our pupils can progress. The pupils performance will be evaluated regularly with our own aims and national norms.

Our school will focus on developing the self-knowledge, self esteem and self confidence of our students. We aim to enable our pupils to distinguish right from wrong and to grow up as law abiding citizens.

To cover the full National Curriculum supplemented by Islamic Studies and a range of extra-curricular activities. The wider curriculum (offered both formally and informally) will produce mature, well educated, young people, who will be responsible citizens and contribute positively to their communities and the wider British Society.

To educate the true Islamic values and morals particularly those of tolerance, peace, harmony and respect for all human beings.
